Pink Sands
Pink Sands was wonderful. The island is small, and you can cover the entire island in about :30 minutes on a golf cart, and a little longer by foot. The island is warm and welcoming, and if you are looking for a swinging hot spot and a night life look else where. There isnt too much to do in town beside support the local economy-but the coffee, bread, and fruit are delicious. The resort was FANTANSTIC. The sand is really pink, and the beach was amazing-we spent every day there all day. The staff took orders for drinks on the beach making the experience more enjoying. The lodge has a pool table and a SOHO flair, and a weight room is attached if you need a work out. The Blue bar is the best-native food, pink sandies,5 rum coloda's, and a the view of the water is amazing. The pool and the tennis court are hardly used (they have night lights). The rooms and view were beautiful. The view of the ocean was stunning--sitting on the porch and sipping drinks watching the cruise ships pass. The whole resort is extremely laid back and very comfortable, and the staff is excellent. On the weekend there was a party at the blue bar with steel drums, local musicians, and great food. If you are looking for action, shopping, excitement this is not the place. If you are looking for amazing 5 star cuisine this is not the place, but it is the place if you are looking for carribbean cuisine. The breakfast was amazing- fresh coffee, fruit, bread, and granola. The dinner was great as well--rock lobster and fish were our choices. Lunch consited of conch fritters day after day. It is a great place to get away, relax and unwind........
We went with four other couples for a long weekend. We were not there to just stay at the resort and really took advantage of the whole island. We had a great time.We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel each day and we were treated as though we owned the place.Everyone loved their rooms and the food and we all could not believe how inexpensive the whole experience was.I can't wait to go back...
Pink Sands was about the most disappointing vacation I've experienced. Having booked 3 rooms for new years 2002/2003, one of which was their best suite, at the tune os 30K for the week, we could not have many more complaints. The food lacked taste and variety, the service was lacking in such fashion it is hard to describe, the costs are absurd, in paticular the wine list, the rooms, while light and airy and of decent size, felt more like a $99 room in South Beach. The management offers little apologies and walks carelessly through the property looking as they can't wait to get the heck out of there themselves. Having said all of this, the beach is incredible, and the pink sands property is dreamy if only a new caring owner would come in and relieve Chris Blackwell, curent owner, of his inattention here. For the same money, which by the way is the absolute most expensive in the caribbean, go to Little Dix Bay, Caneel Bay, rent a villa on Harbour Island or St Barth. Do NOT waste your life and cash at Pink Sands until new management arrives! |
