Club Landor Resort
This company is a bunch of scam artist ...Watch your wallet around this place they'll steal your money while they treat you like crap. Be very careful what you sign read everything very good they will keep hitting you with all kinds of extra fees for maintenance assessments etc.
where do i begin...Club Land'Or is very outdated (circa 60's) and rooms are very small (Bathrooms contain a one-person shower, with very low water pressure and sink and a toilet; 1 bedroom with a queen bed; small kitchen with fridge, microwave and stove; window a/c unit; and a 13" TV in a 10x15 room with a pull out couch). the room we stayed in had a ventilation problem with smoke from upstairs unit. Most of folks staying there were smokers, so if a nonsmoker, would not recommend as they have never heard of a non-smoking room. the working staff was friendly, but the management could care less about the folks staying there. If going there, be sure to ask about all of the hidden extra charges (cleaning fee, 15% gratutity on everything, tours require cash deposits, phone surcharges, etc.). Also, Club Land'Or is surrounded by Atlantis Resort and there are some obvious negative issues between 2 resorts and Club Land'Or folks can't use Atlantis facilities as advertised. However, you can ride the Atlantis bus around paradise island (but no one will volunteer that info), also, if adventurous, you can ride the local bus on New Providence Island for $1 (beats paying $50+ pp for a tour). Tours are overated as well, unless you really want to lounge in the sun at the pool or the beach then Bahamas is not for you. Atlantis is nice, but don't think it is worth the high room rates. If you want to go to Paradise Island, suggest you stay in one of the local hotels as timeshare is not the way to go down there. Food is pricey as well (avg $35/entree). Pool at site is fresh water, but never once saw it cleaned in a week's visit.
Okay, staff was excellent!! --extremely helpful, accomodating, friendly, happy, eager to please --i can't say enough!! Great, great people!! They did have various daily/nightly activities (but nothing you really could do or "enjoy" with young children) And, they did have free laundry!! However, i thought the place itself was kind of old and a bit run down --for example, all bathroom fixtures were "crusted" green and the shower stall was stained various shades of brown --(believe me, i'm not a real picky person and i understand the humidity/climate and all but it wasn't too "eye-pleasing") and there was no tub, if u have small children, which i have 3, that's a drawback! --the units are very small, seemed more like a one-bedrm efficiency than a "condo" (like i was thinking) --there was a pull-out couch, (not very comfy, but then again what pull-out is. . . .) one old air conditioner up in the wall of the living/eating area and a ceiling fan in the bed room (a/c was kind of noisy on "high" but it did work!), the pool was small, (but there was a bar and it did have entertainment on a nightly basis and i think there was shuffle board), but of major importance was the beach and it was a most "lengthy" walk (great for hubby and i, but too much for kids) --the most beautiful beach yes, but a long walk!! Overall, i guess one can say we were kind of disappointed --if it was just my husband and i, it would have been "ok", but with small children, i would not reccommend it!! (we checked out early and into another resort)(And in case anyone was wondering, with 3 small kids, it's not that i didn't do my "homework," we booked this through a travel network we belong to) |
